Global Plaza E-Petition

Many residents and businesses have contacted my office frustrated at the continual traffic jams at Global Plaza Oxenford (Bunnings / Kmart) and have requested a petition to express their dismay.
Petition reads
“Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the traffic congestion in the area of Global Plaza located at Oxenford. This congestion stems from vehicles entering and exiting parking facilities and this area is a recognised congestion point by the Gold Coas...t City Council. We understand congestion and access difficulties are hurting businesses in the vicinity as customers avoid the area.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to ask the Gold Coast City Council to prioritise design works and upgrades which will greatly reduce traffic congestion in the area surrounding Global Plaza.”

On another matter, the Department of Main Roads has begun design works for a $25 million dollar upgrade at Exit 57 Oxenford / Helensvale.
