This week is turning out to be a busy week at our local P&C meetings with planning already started for colour fun runs, Mother’s Day, School fetes and much more. A lot of schools are fundraising towards Air Conditioning classrooms.

Afternoon full of Community Roadsides and a mad dash to Lions Youth of the Year at Burleigh Waters. The contestants gave interesting answers to the judges questions, plus their speeches were well rehearsed and researched.

Dropped off a raffle prize for the Gaven State School Night Markets held on Friday the 29th of March. The ladies from JB HIFI (where I purchased the iPad) seemed very keen to also come along and enter the raffle to win the 128gb 6th generation iPad.

Quick chat with our lovely crossing guards. Please remember, our crossing guards are trying to do a good job and keep our children safe, but texting on your mobile phones whilst driving isn’t the best at anytime, especially in a school zone. Plus we all know it’s illegal. $391 and 3 points plus double demerit points for a second offence within 12 months of the first.

Our new resource centre at Gaven State School is coming together nicely. This has been a long project in the making with the school saving its pennies and applying for grants. As with most schools, Gaven is growing and it needs the current resource centre to be converted into a classroom.
