Community working together at Ferny Glen (Gold Coast Hinterland). The rain event has washed away the creek crossing at Upper Coomera Road at Ferny Glen. Residents are forced to use a flying Fox rope system to transport essentials across Flying Fox Creek.

4:00pm 26th Feb. The Coomera River is still below minor flood levels apart from Clagiraba Road (minor flooding). Rain intensity has increased around the Beechmont Range area (Main catchment for the Coomera River). Coomera River at Canungra Army base is rising but is below minor flood levels. Floods 2022

The Coomera River flood heights are below minor apart from Clagiraba which is showing minor. The Beechmont Range (main catchment for the Coomera River) has only received 106mm in the last 24 hours. The intense rain depression is expected to slowly move south over the Gold Coast and Hinterland later today and into the evening. If the road is flooded, forget it. Don’t place your rescuers in harms way.

Local Small Business

Saturday’s storms caused extensive damage to many vehicles, homes and local businesses. Our local nurseries also suffered damage from the hail and winds. John Muntz Bridge

Quick check of the riverbank upstream from the John Muntz Bridge. The Coomera River has eaten into about 8 meters of bank. If the riverbank isn’t armoured, the river will continue to eat away at the riverbank as it makes its way to the John Muntz Bridge.
