Last week, I again reminded the Minister for Main Roads of the importance of allocating funds to build an additional lane for vehicles traveling from Tamborine- Oxenford Road to have direct access to the M1 Motorway Northbound at Exit 57. Previous letters have detailed to the Minister, the volumes of vehicles that use this interchange daily and issues of traffic queuing caused by multiple traffic control signals so close together.

Today's Question On Notice is to the Minister Main Roads. Residents of the Albert Electorate are continuing to express their frustration at extensive traffic congestion on the western side of the M1 Motorway at Exit 57 Oxenford.

Last night in Parliament, I spoke about the need for a second arterial road between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, The Inter-Regional Transport Corridor. Every time there is an accident on the M1 Motorway, the road network goes into meltdown.

It may of seemed a simple task to have a 60kmh sign moved but in this case it was years in the making.
