Congratulations to the 600 new Aussies at tonight's Citizenship Ceremony in Brisbane. It was fascinating to hear the story of Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner's family journey to Australia from war-torn Europe. This story is relevant to many who have journeyed to our nation.

Congratulations, Coomera State School, on your 150 years! From your humble beginnings of 16 students who first sat in a classroom half the size of what we use today, the school has come a long way. I’m looking forward to the 150-year Fete on Saturday.
