We promised Queenslanders we’d continue to strengthen youth crime laws, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.
Youth criminals who should be in detention will be, but GPS trackers will be an extra condition of bail, to help reduce reoffending.
For a decade, the former Labor Government weakened our youth crime laws, creating a generation of serious repeat offenders.
There’s still a long way to go but we’re delivering tough youth crime laws with early intervention and rehabilitation programs to make Queensland safer.
We will do whatever it takes to restore safety where you live.
