Grant Somerville from blue diamond youth was the guest speaker at a recent Coomera Valley Rotary club meeting.
Grant runs wilderness boot camps for antisocial and problematic youth. Blue Diamond utilize wilderness boot camps and adventure therapy. These camps take the youngsters out of their comfort zone and uses the natural environment as therapy, incorporating adventure activities as therapies also. The program resets the young person’s behaviour, allowing them to develop new character sets for later life.
A State Government 2015 KPMG report found the programs Grant runs to be a success.
