Sunday night viewing. When you venture outside and look up at a clear night sky you will notice a light patch to the south (looks a bit like a cloud or smudge). That smudge is the Large Magellanic Cloud, our second closest neighbouring galaxy. Yes you can see another galaxy with the naked eye. But you must get away from the city lights.

You can also see the Andromeda Galaxy (looks like a smudge) in the northern sky.
