Information from Main Roads. Tamborine-Oxenford Road (John Muntz Causeway) reconstruction. Please share to keep residents informed. Project update #1

Dear residents,

As you would be aware, the flooding events associated with ex-tropical Cyclone Debbie left significant damage to road infrastructure across Queensland including the Tamborine-Oxenford Road approach to the John Muntz Causeway in Upper Coomera.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has been working as quickly as possible to find a solution to repair the road and reinstate this access for the Upper Coomera and Tamborine Mountain communities.

I can advise TMR contractor Golding Contractors Pty Ltd will be on site from Tuesday 18 April 2017 to start the reconstruction of the embankment that was washed away on 31 March 2017 and reconnect Tamborine-Oxenford Road to the John Muntz Causeway.

Work has already started on the repair of the gas line under the road and City of Gold Coast will also soon start work to repair their water main while repair of the road is underway.

These works are expected to be completed by mid 2017.
