Our crossing guards are doing the best job possible but they need your help by keeping to the speed limit, stopping when requested and looking out for children near the road. Children can be excited walking to and from school and forget their surroundings. Only today I witnessed a student run after his soccer ball near the roadway. This was followed by car tyres screeching as a Ute avoided him.

Well done Gaven State School year 6 students for been so inquisitive and paying attention at school. They were very knowledgeable about the process of the parliament and were very keen to learn more. Plus, no visit to parliament is complete without looking the magnificent stain glass window of Queen Victoria.

First up tonight, UCSC P&C meeting. Interesting hearing the proactive programs the school is implementing to increase learning outcomes and monitoring of students progression.

The weather wasn’t the best but the Highland Reserve State School fete was a huge success! So successful our P&C President lost her voice, plus the rural fire brigade had to jump start the Police Van. Well done Sarah and her team of amazing volunteers and big shout to the Lions Club Of Upper Coomera for volunteering on the BBQ!

Interesting night, the Lions Club donate $300 to the school, the school donates a large jar of chocolate to the Lions. Not a bad deal, especially if you like chocolate.
