Wongawallan fire update at 0730 Saturday
The fire front has move through the valley quicker then anticipated overnight. Overnight crews have protected homes from 328 to 336 Wongawallan Dr and stopped the fire but it is still moving through the bottom of the gully.
Crews are arriving on scene and plans are in place to continue backburning around the back of homes towards the end of Wongawallan Dr and continue the backburn around the ridge to contain the spread of fire towards Soloman Lane.
Residents please be aware there will be alot more fire on the ground today and multiple appliances from across the Gold Coast. If there is fire at your home and you can not see any firefighters, call 000 immediately so the Firecom Operations can dispatch crews immediately.
