Representatives from the Cross River Rail Authority drop by my office to discuss the proposed Hope Island Train Station.
Topics discussed:
Additional vegetation to reduce the visual impact of the new station.
Discussions around the proposed intersection. Multiple residents have asked for a roundabout to be considered. In addition, in the morning the traffic along Hope Island Road is almost standstill.
More car parking space, 174 spaces isn’t enough
CCTV camera for the train station.
Additional lighting for carpark and entrance.
Department representatives hope to have another onsite community consultation at Mangrove Jack park in the near future. The last consultation session fell victim to wet weather.
