New laws to expand Adult Crime, Adult Time have just been introduced to Parliament.
We said we’d continue to strengthen our laws - and that’s exactly what we’re doing.
We’ve introduced new legislation to Parliament to expand Adult Crime, Adult Time.
It means crimes like aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm, conspiring to murder, stalking and abusing someone with a disability can be covered by tougher penalties.
Under Labor’s decade of decline, weak laws saw victim numbers skyrocket by 193%.
We’ve already delivered a 7.2% reduction in victim numbers but we know there’s still more work to do.
We’re delivering stronger laws, more police and new early intervention and rehabilitation programs.
It’s all part of our plan to restore safety where you live.
