Community working together at Ferny Glen (Gold Coast Hinterland). The rain event has washed away the creek crossing at Upper Coomera Road at Ferny Glen. Residents are forced to use a flying Fox rope system to transport essentials across Flying Fox Creek.

4:00pm 26th Feb. The Coomera River is still below minor flood levels apart from Clagiraba Road (minor flooding). Rain intensity has increased around the Beechmont Range area (Main catchment for the Coomera River). Coomera River at Canungra Army base is rising but is below minor flood levels. Helensvale Farmers Market

The Helensvale farmers markets is on today at the Helensvale High School. There are a few dedicated individuals who are grabbing their weekly fresh food, including the lady wearing Bunnings poncho. (Not sure how affective the Bunnings raincoat is as she looked just as wet under the raincoat.)

Floods 2022

The Coomera River flood heights are below minor apart from Clagiraba which is showing minor. The Beechmont Range (main catchment for the Coomera River) has only received 106mm in the last 24 hours. The intense rain depression is expected to slowly move south over the Gold Coast and Hinterland later today and into the evening. If the road is flooded, forget it. Don’t place your rescuers in harms way.
