Quick chat with our lovely crossing guards. Please remember, our crossing guards are trying to do a good job and keep our children safe, but texting on your mobile phones whilst driving isn’t the best at anytime, especially in a school zone. Plus we all know it’s illegal. $391 and 3 points plus double demerit points for a second offence within 12 months of the first.

Our new resource centre at Gaven State School is coming together nicely. This has been a long project in the making with the school saving its pennies and applying for grants. As with most schools, Gaven is growing and it needs the current resource centre to be converted into a classroom.

Highland Reserve State School has selected a dynamic group of leaders this year and I’m sure they will have an exciting 2019. Plus big shout out to Principal O’Brien for a very interesting leadership speech.

Day One for our new crossing guard at Highland Way (Highland Reserve) has been an outstanding success. That’s partly due to so many excited students giving their parents directions to the new crossing guard. “Need to cross here”.
