Applications are now open for the 2024 YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament Program. This is a terrific opportunity for young local residents aged 15 to 25 years to build their leadership skills, learn first-hand about our democracy and Queensland’s parliamentary processes, and to have their say about the important issues facing our state. Meet Genevieve, our YMCA Youth Parliamentarian for Theodore. Today she dropped into the office to discuss proposed legislation for this year's Youth Parliament. The topic is facial recognition technology. We managed to find some informative university papers on this technology.

This afternoon's debate topics by youth parliamentarians at the Cairns Regional Parliament are internet curfew to allow students to help around the house (clean their bedroom) and play sports. Plus, afternoon homework classes. 🤔 Most parents would love the idea of their children cleaning their bedroom.
