Last week, amendments to the Fire Service Act were passed in the Queensland Parliament. 👨‍🚒 The changes grant autonomy to our Rural Brigades, enabling them to use their initiative and respond more quickly in emergency events or disasters, even when communication channels are down. It is about giving the volunteers the flexibility they need to better serve the community. Yellow Ribbon Day acknowledges the extraordinary service of more than 26,000 rural fire brigade volunteers across our state. These men and women give up their time protecting our communities from bushfires and other disasters.

The Guanaba Rural Fire Brigade's family fun day was a big success, with good crowds from the Valley in attendance. Big shout out to the Lions Club of Helensvale for donating their time and all funds raised back to the brigade.
