Wonderful to chat with Gaven State School students today at the Queensland Parliament House. The students debated a very important topic, the need to mandate one hour of homework every school night. Strangely, the motion passed and the students voted for extra homework.

Public speaking is a talent anyone can learn. Practise makes perfect and the best place to practise and receive constructive encouragement is Toastmasters. Upper Coomera Toastmasters meets regularly at Saint Stephen’s College at 7pm on Thursday nights.

Congratulations to our Coomera Police Officers and all other Gold Coast Officers receiving awards at today’s Gold Coast Police Honours and Awards Ceremony.

On the topic of small business, we have a new insurance broker moved into the area. I met with Taela to discuss local community service clubs in the area. Taela will soon to be a new member of Rotary. She has recently started her own business Status Insurance ( statusinsurance.com.au ).
