Congratulations to all the Student leaders at Gaven State School. Mister Carlton was correct in his comments, you don’t need a badge to be a leader, all year 6 students are school leaders. Younger students look up to you and follow the example you set.

In between events, calling and meeting residents, I dropped of a new Queensland Flag to Helensvale State High School.

Keep the 15th of July free! Coomera State School will be celebrating their 150 year birthday. The school is planning a huge fete and celebration which will include displays, memorabilia, stalls and rides – something for the whole family. Big shout out to Kerri Underwood, Principal Nicole Page and their team of dedicated helpers. I delivered a quick speech in Parliament last night - only had 3 minutes but could have talked for hours on this magnificent school.

Congratulations Mr Patrick Innes-Hill on officially being sworn in as the Principal of Coomera Anglican College. You have a wonderful school community and am sure will continue the great work of retiring foundation Principal Dr Mark Sly.
