Busy night for the Lions Club of Helensvale discussing the youth of the year competition that is on this Saturday! Multiple students from across the Gold Coast will go head to head. If they are successful, they represent their region and the State. If their success continues and win the Australian competition, they go international.

Between meeting residents and local businesses today, I have been delivering more Neighbourhood Watch signs to our local neighbourhood watch groups. I had to do a bit of advertising for Jon & Robyn Fidden - Fidden Realty at Helensvale, they do so much for the local Neighbourhood Watch.

I’m not sure if Martin is in shock receiving neighbourhood watch signs but he is holding his heart. Only a couple more neighbourhood watch groups in the electorate I need to drop signs off to. Thank you Crimestoppers, we’re putting these signs to good use.

Morning deliveries of Neighbourhood Watch Street Signs, Nicole one of our local coordinators seemed very happy, she has been after them for years. Happy as a kid in a candy store

Quick chat with our lovely crossing guards. Please remember, our crossing guards are trying to do a good job and keep our children safe, but texting on your mobile phones whilst driving isn’t the best at anytime, especially in a school zone. Plus we all know it’s illegal. $391 and 3 points plus double demerit points for a second offence within 12 months of the first.
