Ormeau Lions BBQ packed up for another week. To all those who have supported the Lions today at the Ormeau IGA, huge thank you, we raised over $400 and every cent will go to helping our farmers to make their Christmas a little better. Congratulations to the awesome Pimpama Men's Shed on the official opening of their new shed! Rob, Jeff, Des and I could go on for hours about how great these guys are and what they are doing for the community. So if you are interested in finding out more about their shed I suggest you pop on down for a cuppa and a chat.

Well done to all those who participated in the Walk the Talk - Zero Tolerance for Domestic Violence. Also a big thank you to Soroptimists International Beenleigh organising this event. Plus it's great to see Fay from the Soroptimists and our hard working local Councillors Cr Jennie Breene and Cr Laurie Koranski.

Today's travels through the electorate I came across some very keen and artistic residents working on their Christmas displays. Not only are the displays incredible their gardens deserve a mention as well, not a blade of grass out of place. Well done all! Plus wow its hot today!

On average, a single-use plastic bag is used for just 12 minutes but takes up to 1,000 years to fully decompose. Australians use over 5 billion plastic bags every year, 1 billion of those here in Queensland. If elected, an LNP Government will work for a nationally-consistent approach to phasing out single-use plastic bags to bring Queensland in line with other States and Territories.
