First up this morning was the Community Safety and Legal Affairs committee briefing at Parliament. Today, we asked the department questions about the Respect at Work and Other Matters Amendment Bill. Followed by some special guests at the Parliament, year six students from Helensvale State School visiting the Parliament. The students were very knowledgeable about the workings of the Westminst system of government. Time for a community roadside at Studio before a P&C meeting tonight.

School is back! Best Wishes to all students and teachers as Term 3 commences today. Don’t forget that 40km/hr school zones are now in force each morning and afternoon, on school days.

Big farewell to Upper Coomera State College Primary School Principal Mrs Gurney. She has served as the Primary School Principal for the last 12 months. Mrs Gurney will be returning to the secondary college and will also take on the important role of College Principal whilst Mr Rawlins has a short leave period.

Gaven State School Students Leaders of 2024! This is the first student leader assembly for our new school Principal Maria Healy. Our former Principal Philip Carlton retired last year after serving 13 years at Gaven State School.
