12 Baskets Outreach in conjunction with Oxenford & Coomera Community Youth Centre host a regular free lunch for those doing it tough in our community. These lunches are normally held on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 12 noon till 3 pm. 12 Baskets are also looking for local business sponsorship to help this program continue and expand.

This petition is calling for an appeal to the unjust sentence handed down to a juvenile offender who killed a young couple and their unborn baby in the Redlands last year. If you agree, join the over 5,000 people who added their name to it over the weekend

On the topic of small business, we have a new insurance broker moved into the area. I met with Taela to discuss local community service clubs in the area. Taela will soon to be a new member of Rotary. She has recently started her own business Status Insurance ( statusinsurance.com.au ).

In between volunteering on a few election booths (plus been soaked by the rain head to toe.) and eating a couple democracy snags, I drop by Northern Gold Coast Rotaract cafe at the Oxenford & Coomera Community Youth Centre. Thank you Scott and team for making me a great coffee. All funds at the Cafe go towards local youth projects.

Scott ran a very successful cafe at Upper Coomera Village Shopping Centre. He became a local celebrity in the area for making a great coffee and was always up for a good chat. Scott sold the business and now is retired. Scott is going to volunteer his time and help Northern Gold Coast Rotaract with their Cafe at the Oxenford & Coomera Community Youth Centre on Saturdays 9:00am till 12:00 noon.
