Lately I have had a few residents ask what activities are available for senior. Helensvale Senior Citizens meets 9am Thursday at their hall in Helensvale. They are a top bunch of folks with an array of activities, plus they do regularly field trips and holiday tours. Plus the ladies will show the men how to play pool.

It’s a big thank you to our local Rural Fire Brigades! Tonight we had a joint Guanaba Rural Fire Brigade and Coomera Valley Rural Fire Brigade meeting at Guanaba. These are some of the faces of the individuals who worked tirelessly to contain the blaze at Maudsland. Our local legends!

It’s shaping up to be another day of action at the Coomera Cubs Baseball Club as teams go head to head to make it to the finals. Plus with all the emerging talent, we just need the American League to sign up a few. 👌 2019 Gold Coast Summer Classic.

Recently we requested Department of Main Roads to installed “No Fishing, Diving or Jumping From Bridge” signs on the John Muntz Bridge. I have had a few residents express their concerns at individuals jumping from the bridge into the water. As one resident said, “you don’t know what is under the water, regularly we see tree logs floating or partly submerged in the river after rain events.”
