Recently we requested Department of Main Roads to installed “No Fishing, Diving or Jumping From Bridge” signs on the John Muntz Bridge. I have had a few residents express their concerns at individuals jumping from the bridge into the water. As one resident said, “you don’t know what is under the water, regularly we see tree logs floating or partly submerged in the river after rain events.”

Happy new year! I wish you all the best success in 2019! Tonight I’m watching a little different type of fireworks in the night sky. Orion Nebula is in the constellation of Orion. (Nerdy facts, the light from this nebula took 1,344 years to reach us, the nebula is about 24 light years across and it’s 2000 times the mass of our sun. That’s one big firework.) After losing a few kilos working the BBQ at Bunnings. Time for a Community Roadside at Upper Coomera. My first customer was truly in the Christmas spirit with two little reindeer.

Works are proceeding quickly at the back of Highland Reserve State School (Highland Way) for the new school crossing. It will be great to see our new school crossing guard at this location for the start of the 2019 school year!
