Budget Day 2022

21 Jun 2022 9:38 AMMark Boothman Budget Day 2022

It is Budget day for the Queensland State Government Today we find out how the State Government is going to spend around $65 billion over the next year. Let’s see if they will actually fund projects or push them out to the distant future. We are fighting for for a new health precinct for the North Gold Coast to take the pressure off an over burdened health system. We need to fast track a new Hospital with an emergency department with over night beds for the Northern Gold Coast

We have a long list of import road upgrades which need to be done - Charles Crossing Road North and Tamborine Oxenford Road urgent safety upgrade, funding for Helensvale Road as it will be a critically important feeder road for the Coomera Connecter and early works for Michigan Drive and Tamborine Oxenford Road to name just a few.

The proposed Hope Island Station needs suitable parking that will cater for the needs of the area. 179 car spaces is insufficient. We require at least 500!!

Further development of social housing is also desperately needed.

We also need better forward planning to build new connection roads and rail lines for the northern Gold Coast. A new East West Corridor is required to connect the Gold Coast to areas west of our region.
