Thursday Question on Notice.

Residents of Ormeau are demanding their very own Police Station to help cover the massive physical expanse of the Northern Gold Coast and improve response times. A new Ormeau station will allow Coomera Station to focus on other areas of need in the southern parts of the Northern Gold Coast region.

What progress has been made in finding a suitable site and has the department allocated funds to this project, especially now as rumours of the closure of the Norfolk Village Police Beat is causing great concerns to our community.

I will continue on behalf of the Albert residence to raise the necessity of a new properly resourced Police Station for the northers Gold coast. I would like to thanks all those residents who have called, emailed and stopped at my regular community roadsides supporting this important community infrastructure.

All Albert residents are encouraged to write to me at albert@parliament.qld.gov.au and I will gladly raise you interest and concerns in this matter with the Minister for Police.
