Out in the electorate today talking to local about a new e-petition I have sponsored . Residents have asked me to setup a e-petition asking for addition car parking spaces for the proposed Helensvale North Train Station from 172 to at least 500 and rename the station to Hope Island Road to better reflect the location of the station. E-petition reads

If elected on October 31, the LNP will introduce free off-peak travel for all seniors across the Citytrain network, which stretches from Gympie to the Gold Coast and inland to Ipswich.

The Coomera River has continued to erode sections of the Oxenford Pony Club upstream from the John Muntz Bridge. The Pony Club has lost another 5 to 6 meters of land. Last week I did a speech in State Parliament highlighting the riverbank will continue to erode if reinforcements aren’t carried out to protect the land upstream. The river will slowly reclaim the land as it makes it way to Tamborine Oxenford Road.

Question On Notice to the Minister for Transport. Car spaces vs passenger number for the following train stations, Ormeau, Coomera, Helensvale, Nerang, Robina and Varsity Lake.

Doesn’t seem logical, but according to government predicted passenger usage, Helensvale’s North Station will be 2800 but will have 172 car spaces. Pimpama Station is predicted to be 1400 passengers yet 300 car spaces.
