Captain Richard Vernon Saunders

Captain Richard Vernon Saunders (14th October 1921 - 25th January 2022) was a World War 2 veteran, a gentleman and a great believer in community. A 'life well-lived” Richard was one of our few remaining World War 2 veterans. A man who served his country with distinction throughout the Pacific war. Lest we forget.

North Gold Coast RSL Sub-Branch INC

Thank you to everyone who supported North Gold Coast RSL sub-branch sausage sizzle today at Bunnings Oxenford. Our master chef Ken (our local Sub Branch RSL president, plus he is a top bloke) was working overtime keeping up with the demand of cooked onions and snags. Due to COVID requirements, RSL Chaplain Don was master of the sauce bottles. He took great pleasure in decorating the snags with extra sauce. All funds raised help local veterans.
