The Northern Gold Coast continues to grow rapidly, some parts at 20%. We need an additional 50 permanent general duties officers for the North to keep up with the growth. A request my colleagues and I asked the Minister for Police many times. Yet, Labor only allocates 5 more officers for the entire coast!

Today we saw many Police Officers recognised for their valour and bravery. Every night they go out on patrol, they place their lives at risk to help others. The Northern Gold Coast Community thanks you!

First up today was walking the pavement in Studio Village, then a quick interview with Channel 7, help the Lions clean up their weekly BBQ, now it's time for a Community Roadside at Upper Coomera near the Community Centre.

Our local Police are over worked and the Gold Coast desperately needs more. Last week in Parliament I continued to plead for the officers we need.

Today Sid Cramp MP, Member for Gaven and I met with Senior Sergeant Chris Smith who is the new head of Road Policing in the Northern Gold Coast. It was great to hear Chris's vision and outline to tackle hooning and dangerous driving on our roads. We also spoke about the need to connect our communities through social media at the new North Gold Coast Crime Watch FB page.
